APLUS was founded in 1998 to provide a first-rate supplemental education to students with high aspirations. The APLUS program is best known for its (1) highly qualified teachers, (2) small class size, and (3) advanced curricula. Courses are offered year-round and include elementary mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Pre-calculus, Critical Reading and Writing, Grammar, Writing Workshops, SAT and PSAT prep, private school entrance prep (ISEE or SSAT), and Magnet school and private school prep.
Since its inception in 1998, APLUS Morning Camp has become the most popular program of its kind among students and parents. These programs are designed for 3rd through 10th grade students to advance their skills and provide them with academic challenges over the summer. Each three-week session allows students to preview the Math and English courses that they will take during the fall semester. These classes are highly focused on teaching the skills that students need in order to be academically successful. Students who complete these enrichment courses have demonstrated a high level of confidence and achievement in their schools.
The Afternoon Camp offers students a variety of exciting courses aiming at improving language, speaking skills, and test-taking skills.
These competitive five-week preview courses are offered to high school students at a time most convenient for them – early evening. Classes meet four times a week for two hours each session. Courses offered include Algebra 1, Algebra-2, Pre-calculus, and PSAT/SAT/ACT Boot Camp.
The Back-to-school Warm-up Camp provides an excellent opportunity for students to warm up and get ready before school begins. This warm-up camp is especially helpful in preparing for placement tests that schools usually give in the beginning of the school year.
The SAT/PSAT Prep Course provides an excellent opportunity for high school students, as well as 8th graders who want to take John Hopkins CTY eligibility screening, to practice and get familiar with these critical tests. Unlike SAT/PSAT prep courses offered by other learning centers, APLUS summer SAT/PSAT Prep Course is a 45-hour class that covers extensive materials and prepares students extremely well for the test. This course also includes three carefully selected sample practice tests. All SAT Prep courses are taught by a team of teachers who have helped many APLUS students excel on their SAT tests.
College application is the culmination of the high school years. It is a process that eventually could lead to a field of study that would decide a student’s future career and certainly a future life. This boot camp provides both juniors and seniors an opportunity to understand all the variables and challenges in the college application process. Our experienced college advisors will help you evaluate these variables and challenges, and how they will affect your candidacy in the college application.
New students who register for APLUS AM Camp or for the PM Writing Workshop should take a placement test. The test takes about an hour to complete.
